Thanks again for backing Heart Sunshine. I have maybe 10 minutes to give you the proudest secret update of our entire journey thus far, something that means even more to me than meeting our fundraising goals:
We made it to set. We’re here. We’re grounded.
Principal photography has officially commenced for our film, (where the majority of the movie’s footage is captured with actors on set). After a Nov-July of pre-production, we are blissfully in PRODUCTION.

We were first joined on set by Jason Kelley “Joseph”, Madison Jade “Sunshine” and Constance Ejuma “Valerie.” I also made my debut as my character.
Our crew is faaaannnntastic. All cast and crew will be announced in due time, but for now I just want you to know that on Day 1, they hustled, helped, ideated, encouraged and supported each other, and made me so proud I almost cried several times. I’m about to cry writing this. We have a story we’re very proud of but most importantly, the backing from YOU to power on.
Every single dollar you donated has been put to good use — on the Panda Express we ate, the permits and insurance we acquired, the services of our 1st AD, Sound, Producer, Gaffer, MUA, DP, 1st AC and so many more.
I have to run into prep & rehearsals for most of my scenes now, but please know that it’s WORKING. The playback looks exactly like our storyboards, sounds as intimate and sweet as we envisioned it.
This has been expensive. Thoughtful. Careful. Sweet. Moving. Exciting. Nerve-wracking. Unbelievable. A Dream.
