I’m passionate about empowering underrepresented people in tech and entertainment. I’m a professional voice actor and dating content creator reaching millions of people who love to laugh. I post about tech on LinkedIn and dating on Instagram. I used to work at Instagram as a Marketing Manager, where I focused on inclusion in scaled global campaigns.
I began my career at Instagram as an intern in the summer of 2017. Prior to that, I worked on brands including Facebook, Star Wars, thredUP and the NAACP Image Awards. My work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, AdWeek, AfroTech, Refinery 29 (1)(2), Afropunk (1) (2), Deadline, The Everygirl and more.
I’m a proud alumna of the University of Southern California c/o 2018, Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business (c/o 2021), USC African American Cinema Society and Annenberg Inclusion Initiative.
My Professional Journey
During my days as a USC student, I started blogging about my encounters with directors, producers, and actors. I’m proud to have a blog that has international viewership and I keep my thumb on all things tech & youth.
Now I’m working on true-ish stories spanning an upcoming podcast, comedy content, a novel, and several short films. My business, Joy Ofodu LLC, has partnered with Adult Swim, Netflix, LinkedIn, Anima Iris and more this year! I also lend my voice to video games, ads and others’ films. Here are my goals for my company:
OOH YES: photography, dating, relationships, mental health, theatre, film and television, Rihanna, Drake, memes, non-profits, big brands, promoting diversity in marketing, flowers, Spanish, Snickers
OOH NO: ants, war, peanut butter, ketchup, birds that fly too close, poor parking jobs (usually mine), overpriced anything, unnecessary clutter, the sound a straw makes when it scrapes styrofoam
