Mission: Empower on/off line communities

Celebrating my first #Instaversary with this new, beautiful IGTV vid 😭 When I graduated from #USC I received a lot of well-meaning estimates of how long it takes to fully adjust to the Real World. 6 Months? 1 Year? Turns out you NEVER fully adjust. Delete the myth from your mind. Every day brings new projects, managers, teammates, food, cities, hotels, events, opportunities and challenges. On this #workanniversary I'm grateful to #Facebook x #Instagram as a company for allowing me to accomplish my mission of empowering on/offline communities every day. This + God gets me out of bed. 👨🏾💻: @branmovay 🎉 You’re a real wizard!
More About Me
My mission in life is to empower on/offline communities. I currently work at Instagram as an Associate Brand Marketing Manager, where I focus on community engagement and representation in global campaigns. In my free time, I am a dedicated sleeper, East Bay SPCA volunteer and portrait photographer.
I began my career at Instagram as an intern in the summer of 2017. Prior to Instagram, I interned at Lucasfilm, thredUP and USC Annenberg. Previously, I have worked with many brands like Star Wars, thredUP and the NAACP Image Awards. My work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, LA Weekly (1) (2), Refinery 29, Afropunk (1) (2), People, AdWeek, Blavity, and more. I’m a proud alumna of the University of Southern California c/o 2018, USC African American Cinema Society and Annenberg Inclusion Initiative.
During my days as a student, Los Angeles kept me close to directors, producers, and actors, and I was inspired to blog about my urban adventures. I’m proud to have a blog that has international viewership and I keep my thumb on all things tech & youth.
OOH YES: photography, love, theatre, film and television, Rihanna, Drake, Jason Momoa, working, big brands, promoting diversity in marketing, Spanish, Snickers
OOH NO: ants, war, peanut butter, ketchup, birds that fly too close, poor parking jobs (usually mine), overpriced anything, unnecessary clutter, the sound a straw makes when it scrapes styrofoam
