⏩⏩⏩ There’s my first full year in speaking. 10+ engagements over 12 months not including interviews and publishing. An est. 1,750 reached in person and 8k via IGTV 🤗. Countless hands shook, mamas hugged, kids high-fived, Black women seen. I earned nothing for these speaking engagements except a full heart every time someone ran up to tell me my words changed a small or huge part of them. East Bay, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, NYC, Chicago, ATL, Ojai. From Jan - Dec 2019. There was my heart and mind. I spoke it, you heard it. Thank you. 💞

As a photographer, I face a lot of conflicting pressures. Shoot consistently. Don’t injure your hands further. Color consistently. Do something fresh. Shoot high profile people. Shoot models. Shoot everyday people. Get published. Don’t worry about getting published. Publish your work frequently. Not too frequently. Publish only the best stuff. Don’t be a perfectionist. Get booked. Don’t worry about bookings. — And yesterday I took this photo of @lcrampsie that is REALLY inconsistent with my style but this is me saying.. BUMP the rules. 🤷🏾‍♀️📸
