Directed by Justin Tipping
Written by Joshua Beirne-Golden and Justin Tipping Followed by a Q&A with Justin Tipping and Actors Kofi Siriboe + surprise guest Chris Meyer [both pictured], Moderated by SCA BFA Student Aaron Ashby, President of African American Cinema Society
We had a packed house packed with good vibes for our pre-screening of KICKS (in theatres September 9th). This also marked our first African American Cinema Society event of the year, and our org is coming back with the fire and a true passion for encouraging black filmmakers, actors and narratives. I fasholy kept my thumbs busy with a live-tweet stream from the AACS account – @FilmTVDiversity and director @justintipping closely following the conversation about masculinity and filmmaker grit:
I had the pleasure of meeting two actors from the film and joking around with them on camera for TDE Creative! It was a pleasure to do so; the film was beyond moving, picture perfect and truly captured the spirit of the East Bay, a place I’ve always called home.
