For a girl who thought she was done being starstruck in Los Angeles, I was in for the surprise of my life.
I went from pondering how I would even be able to function…
…to actually living through it.
Click the right arrow on the IG photoset below to see all of the red carpet selfies with Talent! I met Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong’o, David Oyelowo and USC AACS alumnus Ryan Coogler for the first time. It was also great to see the familiar faces of Yara Shahidi, Marsai Martin and Mike Colter.
There were some excellent fan-girly moments along the way:
And what could compare to THE Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) making a grand entrance:
I could tell you everything about the actual film as there wasn’t an NDA involved, but I’m determined to let you see it and form your own opinions about the performances, music, action scenes, costume and script! I’ll offer that I am obsessed with it, and can’t see how I’ll be the same after watching it in the same section as Donald Glover, Josh Gad, Lena Waithe, Ava DuVernay and Taika Waititi with Tessa Thompson, Kevin Feige, George Lucas and Mellody Hobson cheering on from neighboring sections.
Nothing could beat owning this moment with the reason I was at the World Premiere in the first place: serving on the USC African American Cinema Society E-Board! What a wonderful way to round out my third and final year with this incredible org.
