My Chinese CGTN Interview: Black Women Entrepreneurs

There was no better way to exit Black History Month and enter Women’s History Month, than to be interviewed about the rise in Black women entrepreneurship — live on CGTN America News, a Chinese news network in the U.S. based in Washington, D.C.

This was my second TV interview of 2024! I have so much support from my followers and community on the East Coast, but I’m more surprised than anything to have this brand new community reach out to me and ask me to share more about my expertise in leading a business as a creator, giving me so much room to speak. This is a privilege for me, and I know it is not the case for all.

I’m among the first executives to ever write on The Black Creator Economy as a coined term. I launched my media company several years ago when I realized that being funny could lead to financial stability and growth. I saw that I had a unique, internationally demanded talent that deserved my business and marketing scientist’s attention. Owning a business is by no means easy, but I’ve been blessed to be successful, and to have tripled my revenue since launching.
