I didn’t think that I’d be writing another “Rubbing Elbows with CEOs” this soon! Today’s event brought Leslie Moonves, President and CEO of CBS and Julie Chen (Annenberg Alum, Fight On!) of CBS to our campus for a special announcement by Annenberg Dean Ernest Wilson and USC President C.L. Max Nikias. The media center in Wallis Annenberg Hall is now officially named for our honorees: Introducing the Julie Chen/Leslie Moonves and CBS Media Center!
This prestigious and historic naming ceremony was attended and reported on by some of the most prominent media outlets in the country, including Entertainment Tonight (S/o to Kevin Frazier), Variety, KTLA, and CBS Los Angeles. President Nikias praised the entertainment power couple for their generosity and passion for education (and presented them with beautiful letterman jackets); Julie thanked Wallis Annenberg for her efforts in pioneering this unique opportunity for USC Annenberg students, and Leslie Moonves can be quoted as saying:
“I have unique ties to this community. This building is better than any studio.”
As an Annenberg Admissions Ambassador, I was extremely honored to assist in hosting this event, as well as the many celebrated figures who visited Wallis Annenberg Hall today from around USC, Los Angeles and beyond. And it was great to see you again, Julie!
Cheers,
