If you follow the new Insta, you’ll notice that I’ve taken on an internship at an incredible company not so far, far away! I’ve had the honor of supporting Star Wars’ incredible next move to change the world we know and love:
What is Force for Change?
Star Wars: Force for Change is a charitable initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm. Our goal is to harness the strength of Star Wars and its global fandom to empower people to come together to make a positive impact on the world around them. We want to inspire people to be “forces for change” in their everyday lives.
FFC has drawn support from incredible Star Wars talent, including Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars Rebels, creator of HerUniverse), Daisy Ridley (Rey, The Force Awakens) and rad fashion brands like UNIQLO!
For a recent Force For Change Spotlight, I wrote about Joelle, an anti-bullying advocate and ambassador for Alopecia UK. (She’s basically a total rockstar and would probably be able to join the ranks of the fiercest jedi without much issue)
Did someone say preview?
A dedicated fan, Joelle takes comfort in the Star Wars community, which enables her to “find people who are creative and openly accepting… Star Wars has given me a place to share things with others where it is accepted that everybody is different and individual.”
You can read Joelle’s full story here on the Star Wars site!
May the Force Be With You, Always
