It was both a career high and an honor to interview Zaya Wade for Instagram Creators’ #ItsOktoNot live stream event! The event was a celebration of reclaiming your space, creating boundaries, and granting yourself permission to NOT do what is expected of you.

Zaya Wade (@zayawade) was ID’s recent cover star! Zaya came out as trans at age 11 and at 14, years later, she’s gracing magazine covers, red carpets, and virtual stages.
In our interview, she discussed how her father, Dwyane Wade is her inspiration, how she sets boundaries on the internet, and the pressure of being a queer, black child. She also dropped her self-care morning habits to handle negativity.
